Students who have taken an Art & Design course in 2021-2022 entered up to four pieces of artwork to be juried for the exhibition. This year’s show was juried by Graphic Designer Yahya Rushdi and Artist Nishant Saldanha. We are proud of the creative and varied work of our students. Explore & enjoy!

The 2022 Annual Student Exhibition celebrates the layers that create all of you as individuals and as artists. Our exhibit reaches those inside and outside of the University of Minnesota Duluth community. We hope to create a universal shared sense of belonging, solidarity, and love with these featured artists.

With layered words such as self, community, passion, friends, family, nature, purpose, culture, society, and more, these words represent what creates us. We as individuals use our environment and creativity to form our world and most importantly: ourselves.

In the Department of Art & Design, we understand the creative life. Our challenging and innovative learning environments support creative activity and encourage students to be independent and critical thinkers, life-long learners, and to make connections with communities in the Twin Ports region. Students explore various media and methods under the mentorship of distinguished faculty. We can show you how to reinvent and renew yourself over a creative lifetime beginning with coursework that will challenge you and prepare you for careers limited only by your own imagination.
